Signing Requests
A signing request is a request for AET to sign one or more documents. For example, a client might create a signing request if they need a signature on a document to:
- Sell real estate
- Reassign stock
- Reassign assets
Creating a signing request
The first step in creating a signing request is to create the initial request for an account.
You should provide a helpful description and select if the signed documents need to be shipped (physical mail), emailed, or both. If the documents need to be shipped, please include the full address information. If the documents need to be emailed, only an email is required.
The client will be notified when a signing request is created. They will also receive notifications as their request is processed.

Adding documents
Once you have created a signing request, you should use its ID to attach documents to it. There are two kinds of documents you can attach:
- Documents to be signed
- As the name implies, these are documents the client needs signed by AET
- Please provide instructions to help us understand where the signature is needed
- A signing request cannot be processed without attaching at least one document to be signed
- Supporting documents
- These documents provide additional information about the request (e.g. a hold harmless agreement)
Statuses
- On Hold For Review - The request is waiting to be reviewed by AET
- In Process - The request is being processed by AET
- On Hold For Correction - AET has requested a correction - see notes
- On Hold For Funds - The client does not have enough funds for associated fees
- Completed - The request has been completed
- Rejected - The request has been rejected by AET
- Canceled - The request has been canceled
